Toyo RA1 tires are a DOT competition choice for drivers who want a motorsport-first tire for road racing, track days, and other closed-course events. At Hurricane Tire & Service, this specialty model is a strong fit for enthusiasts who value consistency, quick lap times, and long wear over everyday commuting.
Toyo’s RA1 uses a directional tread design, stepped tread blocks, tread depth indicators, and a soft but durable R-compound. It starts at full 8/32" tread depth for competitive wet traction, and shaving to 4/32" can improve dry traction for track use. Toyo also notes that some competition tires, including the RA1, should not be moved or operated below 15°F (-9°C).
